Scammers impersonate top-up sites because reloads and voucher codes are fast and hard to trace. A few rules will keep you safe.
We will never
- Ask for your password, card CVV, PIN, or an OTP. Not by phone, email, SMS, or WhatsApp.
- Ask you to send a reload or voucher code to prove your identity, unlock a prize, or release a refund.
- Contact you from a personal mobile number asking for payment outside the website.
Warning signs elsewhere
- Someone you met online asks to be paid in gift card codes. Legitimate sellers do not do this.
- A caller says a relative is in trouble and needs a reload right now. Hang up and call the relative directly.
- An offer of credit far below face value. There is no legitimate way to sell reloads at a heavy discount.
- A site that looks like ours on a slightly different address. Check that you are on topups.lk before paying.
If you have already paid a scammer
Contact your bank straight away, and report it to the Sri Lanka Police cybercrime division. If a code bought from us was handed to a scammer, tell us the order number. We cannot reverse a spent code, but we can help with what you need for a report.
