This page explains the cookies Topups.lk uses, what each group does, and how to change your mind. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which covers personal data more broadly.
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store. On your next visit the browser hands it back, which is how a site remembers that your cart still has something in it or that you are signed in. We also use similar technologies — local storage, and small tracking pixels in email — and treat them the same way in this statement.
Some cookies are the plumbing: without them you could not stay logged in or reach checkout. Others tell us which pages are slow or which products people cannot find. A third group would let us measure advertising. We ask for your consent before setting anything in the second and third groups.
| Group | What it does | Consent | Typical life |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Keeps your cart, session and login working, remembers your cookie choice, and protects checkout against fraud. | Not required | Session to 12 months |
| Functional | Remembers preferences such as the currency you chose to view prices in. | Required | Up to 12 months |
| Analytics | Counts visits and shows us which pages fail, in aggregate. We do not use it to identify you. | Required | Up to 24 months |
| Marketing | Measures whether an advertisement led to an order, and limits how often you see the same ad. | Required | Up to 12 months |
WooCommerce sets the cart and session cookies. Our payment provider sets its own cookies on the payment page, which are necessary to complete a transaction securely.
Where an analytics or advertising provider sets a cookie through our site, that provider also acts as a controller of the data it collects. We only allow this after you consent, and we name the providers in the consent banner so you can see who they are before you decide.
You can reopen the cookie banner at any time from the link in the site footer and change any group except the strictly necessary one. Withdrawing consent stops further collection; it does not erase what was already collected, which you can ask us to delete under the Privacy Policy.
Every major browser lets you see stored cookies, delete them, and block new ones. Look under Settings for Privacy, Cookies, or Site data. Blocking all cookies will break the cart and checkout on this site and on most others.
Browsers send a Do Not Track signal inconsistently and there is no agreed standard for responding to it, so we do not rely on it. Use the cookie banner instead — that choice we do honour.
When we add or remove a cookie we update this page and, where consent is affected, ask you again. The version date is shown below.
